General Data Protection Regulation 2018
A message to our members
You may be aware that the law is changing in relation to the personal information that companies hold on file about you.
This change is coming into effect in May 2018 so Builders’ Conference wanted to give you the assurance that you can be 100% confident that all the personal information we hold on file in relation to you and your business is secure.
Personal information includes your business email address and your work mobile phone number.
Why we need information on you
We collect personal data about you to enable you to access our data information platform and to enable us to collect payments for your membership. Via our email platform Pure 360, we also use your email address to send you weekly tender reports and other information we believe will be of interest to you, for example, our monthly Newsletters and Inside Construction Magazine.
What we are working on to be ready for the regulations
We are currently carrying out a company-wide review of all our practices involving personal data in readiness for the GDPR and the Data Protection Bill. We are appointing a Privacy Officer based at our main head office.
We are reviewing our privacy notices which will set out in more detail how we will use your information, the lawful basis for processing the data and how you can complain to the ICO if you have an issue with the way we are handling your data.
We are also checking our procedures to ensure they cover all the rights that you will enjoy including the right to view the information we hold about you and how incorrect information will be amended. We will also have clear processes around consent and in the event that you want your personal data deleted.
We will be back in touch with you very shortly with an update
Thank you for your continued support of Builders’ Conference.
