Neil Edwards started his career in the construction sector as a trainee with the Wates Group, focusing on estimating & Pre-Construction. After working with other contractors including Lovell Construction, he then joined Benson Ltd where he became Director for Pre Construction following a management buyout. In 2005 he worked on construction projects in the Caribbean before returning to the UK in 2006 as Chief Executive as of Builders' Conference, the UK Construction Industry's premier data provider.
At the helm of the construction sector's leading Trade Association, Neil believes passionately in helping remove guess work when it comes to accurately forecasting the future of the sector by supplying transparent, quality data & information to aid planning for new skills, resorces and materials.
Mark Anthony is a career journalist and author who has spent the past 30 years writing about construction, construction equipment and demolition. He is editor of Inside Construction, Construction WorX and Diggers and Dozers magazines and is the founder of DemolitionNews.com and Demolition magazine.
David has been in Pre Construction for nearly 40 years working for SME Contractors in the London and Northern Home Counties areas. He is Currently Estimating Manager for Borras Construction Ltd. When not submitting tenders David also manages the Borras management Trainee programme which gives opportunities for the new generation to come into construction, gain a construction degree and grow within a solid welcoming construction company.
Julie is the Managing Director of D-Drill since 2008 and was chose as the Vitailse Businesswoman of the Year in 2011 following in the footsteps of Karren Brady. A previous chair of the National Specialist Contractors Council Training Committee, she now chairs the Training and skills & Trade Association Forum and is a Director on BuildUk.
Julie has a drive for innovation and improvement in the construction sector and pioneered D-Drills in-situ kerb cutting machine for the London Super Cycle Highway which was highly commended for Construction Innovation of the Year in 2016.
She has shown a huge commitment to training and apprenticeships with 45% of the D-Drill workforce are wither undergoing or have completed an apprenticeship within the Company
Nicola has been working in the Property and Construction Sector for over 25 years, sourcing land for clients, running complex tender submissions and writing articles and content for websites.? She has an enquiring mind and is always up to date with current trends in the industry. Passionate about customer service and how the sector can keep agile and continuously improving, she also believes in developing future talent and encouraging young people to consider construction as a career.?She runs training courses on bid writing and networking skills.
Nicola is the Founder of WISH a business and support network for women working in the affordable housing and construction sector which has seven regional branches across the UK and nearly 400 members. She is a regular Judge at the Women In Housing Awards now in its 5th Year.
